21 May 2008 Lenses

Lenses for the P7 it seems are like hens teeth. The P7 is quite big compared to other high power LEDs, its just a bit smaller the a 1 cent coin.
Any how I emailed a very helpful gentleman in Components Company, he has sent me a few lens to try.

I have yet to experiment as I have nothing to hold the LED as yet, but I have an idea or two rattling around, and I have some collage work to finish, check out the SJDi project.
5 May 2008 Some bit arrived

Batteries from Battery-Box.co.uk, all 24 of them. Ni-Mh AA 2700mAh.

1 Constant current power supply, KONLUX DC 2000mA.
1 Seoul P7
2 Superflux warmwhite LEDs 120°
Some thermal paste and thermal pads
From dotlight.de

Held the P7 down to an aluminum processor heat sink, with a bit of paste. Wired up the supply and stuck it to 5 of the batteries, holy cow its bright. Its too bright, hence the Superflux LEDs.

The ccp supply needs a bit of heat sinking too, but its not bad. Will use a cool tape to stick it to the heat sink (Beware the back of the KONLUX is connected to -IN).
